Retirees Flocking to Mexico

Lake Chapala at Sunset by Mike Cruze
Gwen Ifill, on the PBS news hour, reports on the huge number of people moving to Mexico. Retirees are flocking to the middle of the country that offers "Hawaii's attitude and Denver's latitude."

People can live cheaply and incredibly well. For those in need of long-term care, Mexico offers excellent care at a fraction of the cost in the United States. Instead of paying $3800 a month in an independent living facility in the States, you can pay $1000 for a lovely apartment and three meals a day in Ajijic.

This fascinating eight minute video, shot in Ajijic, Mexico, where I used to live, is well-worth watching.
